Jaws Summer Season 2021 Information
Due to Covid-19 our practice schedule and how practice is conducted may look a little different and may change throughout the season. If you are ever questioning when your practice time is the calendar on the website will let you know when your practice is. Because we are governed by USA Swimming we have to follow additional guidelines along with JPS and the North Dakota Department of Health. Masks will still be required at practice and must be worn by the athletes at all times with exception while in the pool. This is a regulation handed down from USA Swimming and the North Dakota LSC. To follow additional restrictions we will be having a closed practice no spectators will be allowed in the pool area. Parents will need to wait outside of the pool area.
Jaws this summer season will be for athletes entering 6th grade and under and Recent High School Graduates. We encourage athletes entering 7th grade and older to participate in the Blue Jay Summer Swim Camp. If any athletes entering 7th - 12th grade would like to compete in Long Course Swim Meets please email us for more information. If there are any graduates that would like to participate in Jaws please contact us for more information.

Little fins will practice Tuesdays and Thursdays starting May 4th from 6pm to 6:30pm
A different dryland workout will be available on our website in the "Whats up Jaws" section every two weeks for athletes to complete at home when not at practice or on Fridays. These will be geared for the whole family to complete.
Athletes should not arrive to the pool earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled practice time.
***For Jaws to have a season this year we will need a minimum number of athletes to sign up and participate. Please sign up by April 28th so we can get a proper head count and know for sure if we will be able to have a summer Jaws season this year. ***
New for this summer season, we will be doing one day of week of a split practice. One half will be out of the water training and the other half will be in water training. Athletes need to be prepared for out of water training at all times. Tennis shoes and clothes that can be worn outside are a must.

To join Jaws swimmers must be able to swim a minimum of 10 yards unassisted. We will have a two week trial period for all new athletes at which time we can help determine which group they are in. Please send email to us when signing up so we can make of note of the trial period. if at the end of the two week trial you would like to no longer participate in Jaws an email must be sent by the end of our two weeks to let us know for a full refund of registration cost. If no email is received you will forfeit your registration fee to Jaws.
Summer Swim Meets: Jaws will be hosting a home swim meet on June 27th. We will not be attending any other meets. If your athlete achieves a state qualifying time and you wish to attend the state meet we will attend that as well.
Fundraising: We are planning a Swim-a-Thon & Dash for June 26th. Athletes from all over (they do not need to be USA swimming registered) can participate in this fun event.
The state meet for all ages is tentatively planned for July 23 - 25 in Bismarck. Just a fun reminder if you have achieved a state qualifying time in any event since January 1, 2019 you are eligible for the summer state meet.
